Thank you to the wonderful mothers that worked so hard to make everything delicious and FUN!!! Thank you for sending in supplies, and for helping out! Here's a glimpse of the FUN!
I was so thankful we had ice cream instead of pizza!!! It was HOT, and the kids LOVED it!!!
Friday is a FUN day! I will be attending my daughter's graduation, but had planned for the children to play games before lunch. Please feel free to send your child's favorite board game, and a small snack. Also, please encourage them to be kind to the sub! Only a very brave person would come on the last day of school!
I'm both happy and sad that the year is ending! I love to see the pride on my student's faces when they leave to become 5th graders, and the future leaders in our school. But, we've formed strong bonds, and it makes me sad to see them leave. Like most of you, I LOVE SUMMER!!! I'm looking forward to sleeping late, spending time with my children, and taking a fun-filled vacation! I hope you all have wonderful breaks, that leave you super-charged for the year to come. I want to remind you of the importance of working some over this break. Most students experience a skills loss during the summer that takes them several weeks of work to correct. Ten minutes of work 5 days a week could help you avoid this, and return ready to ROCK during 5th grade! If you require anything of me, I do check my email regularly throughout the summer.
Until then, we have work to do...
This week we will have HOMEWORK!!!! Students must finish all Division tasks in IXL. If they are not finished, it will have a negative impacted on the homework portion of the grade.
The end of year celebration will be Thursday. The children will be having an ice cream party in the courtyard. Thank you, Room Moms, for organizing this!!!
Many of you will be receiving notes about an end of year conference. If you were new to the state or county. I want to give you some information that should make next year a little easier! I'll try to accommodate your schedules as best I can. I'd be happy to come early, or stay late, but we will not have time to rescedule for missed conferences. If your schedule does not permit you to come in, I can do these over the phone.
Homework for this week and next is IXL- DIVISION- All E Tasks. Many of the E tasks were assigned earlier this year, so if you've been keeping up, the last 2 weeks will be CAKE!! I'll also give you some time in the lab this week. (That should help!)
In class we are working on FUN tasks! Ask your child about Farmer Fred, and how his farm helps us understand how we can use fractions in the real world! We'll be doing 3 more fun tasks like this before the year is done!
I was shocked to find so many sweet notes, beautiful flowers, and thoughtful gifts this morning!! You are so kind to me!! I had the most wonderful time reading all the letters and note cards! They were absolutely precious!!!! I'll be sending home 'Thank You' notes on Thursday, but until you receive one, PLEASE KNOW HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE YOU AND YOUR KINDNESS!!!
We have such a great day planned Wednesday! I'm feeling so much better, and excited about coming back! We will be eating lunch outside, as we launch our rockets. It's going be to AWESOME!!! If you bring lunch from home, please try your best to bring lunch in a bag that can be thrown away. If you buy a lunch, Mr. William will have those in a bag for us. He and the lunchroom staff did this just for us, so please say thank you!!! You should also bring a beach towel to sit on if you can! We want to enjoy every minute of this special day!
