The county's policy is that transportation changes must be made via:
1. a note from the parent
2. in person in the front office
3. by fax
But, never through email!
I know it may sometimes be inconvenient, but it's a rule to support the safety of the children. Thank you in advance for helping me with this!
Penny Wars to support Relay is ongoing Monday- Friday!!! I've got a mason jar of change ready to help us get started! Don't forget why we are doing this! PW supports a great cause!

Parents, Thank you so much for your wonderful response to communication this year! I appreciate the feedback about the remind app, but am unable to see the comment when you reply on the remind app itself. I believe I have disabled replies on Edmodo, as well. The county has asked that we not communicate through texts. I am always happy to answer your questions! The best way to reach me is always going to be email: pamela,[email protected] If you have a more urgent situation, please feel free to call.
THANK YOU PARENTS!!!!! Our T-shirt orders are all in!!!!

What will we be doing in class:
Math-Powers of 10, Multiplication of Multi-Digit Whole Numbers
Every Monday your child will receive a spiral review sheet. This page will be due each Friday. I often give a short quiz over the concepts reviewed on these sheets. Your child will have time to work on these problems in class, but it would be helpful if you could go over them with your child at home. They are foundational skills mastered in 4th grade that will help your child be successful with the new skills we are learning.
Last week we studied Order of Operations. You should have a study guide in your binder. Here is a chart from the journal, and some additional sample problems. The answer sheet follows each set of problems, so you can check your work. Here are some additional resources for practicing this skill:

Field Trip Update: We are so excited to be looking at a new Field Trip option!!! The Atlanta Field Trip would take us to the Civil Rights Museum, as well as several local civil rights sites. We would eat lunch at the Varsity, and head to The World of Coke to see how the themes we learned in our economics unit work in the real world! We'd end the day at the Georgia Aquarium, and return to school as soon as the dolphin show ends for the day. We'd love your feedback regarding this trip! Please look for a link to a survey in our Weekly Tracks email from last Friday.
