Some students have not completed their Readworks on The Earth's Plate and Earthquakes.  ALL Science Students were assigned this task two weeks ago. This task should be completed immediately.

        We began working on this last week, and it's a VERY DIFFICULT TOPIC for my class!  I have a new ppt that I will place on the grammar Edmodo Monday.  I recopied the notes we placed in our journals, so you could take a set home to study!  I would study this daily, as it has proven to be such a challenge!

The Week of September 9...

What a quick and easy blog post!  Only one academic subject this week:  MATH!!!  With testing and our other obligations, we will have one block of math, and a 15 minute block in homeroom to catch up on other work!  (I have a few groups that need to present Sways! We can do that Monday!)

Come with your A-game, because MATH is moving very quickly this week!  We have a MATH TEST Friday, September 20.  In order to be ready, we have LOTS to learn.

Spiral review comes home MONDAY, and is due Friday.

Happy ITBS Testing Week!!!!!

Tips for Testing

1.  Your body is used to snack at 9am.  With testing, you will not be able to snack till much later. Eat a heartier breakfast than you usually do so you won't be distracted during the test.  (But, still bring a snack, you can eat it after the testing.)

2.  Tests are tiring, mentally and physically!!!  Go to bed a little earlier than usual.  (If you fall asleep and drool on the test, it's probably going to be a testing irregularity, and I DO NOT want to be featured on the news!  :  )

3.  Bring your GRIT attitude!  You've got this!  You are going to CRUSH this!  ITBS can only cause good things to happen for you, so SLOW DOWN.  Use your extra time to recheck answers, and reread passages.  That's what changes a "good"  score into a "great" score.

4.  Remember what Mrs. Rickman said about testing anxiety.  Think positive thoughts, calm yourself, and only have constructive self-talk!  Your awesome, and your best is good enough.

Monday-  NO SCHOOL

Tuesday-  Student council speeches will take some math time, but we will review 5.NBT.2 (division and multiplication mixed!)  I want to contrast computation vs looking for a pattern

Wednesday-  Review division with larger numbers

Thursday-  Review for test!  Come prepared with questions!
