Dear Shallowford Falls Families-
I want to thank all the parents and guardians of our SFE foxes for working so hard to ensure that your child(ren) is/are keeping up with the lessons assigned by the teachers. I know that the first week of digital learning may have been challenging as you learned to navigate new technology, balance your own work at home and help your child with their studies. However, I know that in typical “Team Fox” fashion, our community is rising to the occasion of working together.
I do want all families to know that I will be sending updates at least once a week to keep you up to date with pertinent topics. Here are the updates for the week of March 23:
- Report cards: Student repot cards were posted this past Friday in Parent Vue. Please review your child’s report card and if you have questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
- Lesson E-mail: Lessons will now be emailed home the evening prior by 8:00 pm. Many parents felt they needed time to get the materials and lessons organized before the morning. In addition, the specialist lessons will be included in the teacher e-mail. The students may enjoy doing these to break up the academic portion of the day.
- Morning News: I know it is important to keep connected during this time, so SFE will post the morning news each morning by 8:00 on the SFE Facebook page. (Shallowford Falls Elementary School) This may be a fun way to start the day and there will be special guest on each show that students will not want to miss.
- SFE Car Parade: On Friday, March 27, the SFE staff will be driving though the neighborhoods to see our students. We will be staying in cars and we are asking students to stay in their own driveway to ensure that we follow the CDC guidelines of social distancing. We hope you are outside so you can spot the SFE staff as they drive through. Different staff members will be in the different neighborhoods. We can’t wait to see you!
We hope to see all of you soon. I know the whole SFE staff REALLY misses the students. In the meantime, please stay safe and “stay home. “
