Our ZOOM calls are getting better! Let's review the rules!
1. No creepy backgrounds. I love the forest, the beach, the personalized backdrops... But nothing distracting please. We need to stay focused!
2. Let's not eat during a Zoom. It's a quick call to answer questions, so if we could eat before, or wait till after that would be helpful!
3. No side conversations during the call. Tell siblings you are doing school work, and minimize the family conversations as much as you can. If you need to, you can mute your side of the conference, but I hate to see that we are doing that.
4. Minimize your movement during the call. Have a seat, and keep your laptop still so we can see your face! (WE MISS YOUR FACE!!!) Find a place to sit before the call begins. Point the camera on your face, because we MISS SEEING YOU!!! (And It makes it easier for everyone to focus!!!)
5. Have a list of questions ready! I know you have questions for me, and I am happy to help! I don't want the call to end, and you not to have had a chance to get your question answered!
Today, you did a GREAT job! Here are the items we discussed:
1. We will check the answer key for 5-A-Day each Friday. This would mean that you need to check your work with a parent. Once you check your work, it's important that you understand why you missed the problems you missed, and that you get help to understand this type of problem in the future. You could private message me on Edmodo, or post on the Math or ELA page if you would also be willing to accept help from a friend. We are trying this, and it is on the honor system. Getting help for things you do not fully understand is always in your best interest!
2. Double check the blog. It has a list of tasks, and you can check off each task as you complete it.
3. ELA Work- Give each task your all!!! (I can not stress this enough!) You should do the same high-quality work for me online that you do in class each day. That means capital letters, punctuation, writing from margin to margin on the page, and complex sentence structures. Athletes play in the big game like they practice every day! So, ALWAYS give it your best effort.
